"I have osteoporosis and in my last two appointments, have stopped decreasing in heigth, whereas previousely, I was decreasing at intervals. When my Dr. asked me what I have done differently, the only thing is using the Yogawrap Spinal Support in my car."

“I have used the Yogawrap Spinal Support for a couple of years to help my students improve their posture, relieve pain and stress. The product works! It helps people when they are working and it gives an impression on their bodies of how the yoga poses can help their problem areas. I highly recommend it!”
Gary Reitze has been practicing yoga for 24-years and teaching Iyngar Yoga for 20-years. He is certified at the intermediate level and was one fo the founders of the Iyengar Yoga Center Denver in Denver, CO. He continues to study with Manouso Manos and Patricia Walden, and at the Iyngar Yoga Institute inPune, India.

In Iyengar yoga, if a person were to come in with carpal tunnel, we would begin work on the shoulders, not the wrist. If the shoulders are holding the arm, therefore the wrist, in an aligned position then, within reason, the wrist can function without strain. The problem is a common desk chair only comes up the back, to the bottom of the thoracic. Ideally, you need a chair that can support the back of the body, all the way up to your shoulders. Still, reaching for the mouse, your shoulders will continuously be in front of your spine. If I use the Yogawrap, my upper spine is lifted, and prevented from sinking back so that the shoulders can stay in alignment, preventing over straining on the wrist. I say, within reason too; as the body is in balance, years of 8-hours of the same position is a schedule for the body that is out of balance. Still, we can help, by raising the back of the chair to full length and adding the support of a Yogawrap. There will always be times when you have to lean over your desk, but to not have a proper support to lean back on prevents your body from returning to a healthy posture, which causes that chronic 'knot of pain' under your shoulder blades, as well as an overtaxed wrist.

Neck strain is from protruding the jaw or face forward, such as when we are reading off of our computer throughout the day. The  problem with this is, when its repeated throughout the day the muscle memory holds that position and it works like a dominoe down the body causing a line of imbalances. Also, because there is no support from the top portion of most desk chairs, the thoracic hunches forward and the neck responds by sinking down and forward too. Because the Yogawrap prevents the upper back from sinking back, the neck doesn't fall into the forward lunge and the balanced memory is maintained.

The Yogawrap also allows for more oxygen than slouching, because it not only supports the upper back, it opens the sternum allowing your body to take in more oxygen - without even trying! This, in turn gives you more energy through out your day. Also, a habit of an open heart will naturally lead to a subtle lift in compassion and patience. Something every office could benefit from.

Plus, the lift off of the digestive organs gives your body the room it needs to function properly, which is pain-free, naturally.
